Maria Casey managed me during a summer 2006 internship at the Make-A-Wish Foundation. At the end of my internship, I asked Maria if she would consider coaching me on a personal level. As a young college graduate, I needed help determining “where I wanted to go in life”.
Our phone sessions consisted of me verbally processing my current life situation, thinking big about what my professional and personal dreams were, creating tangible and realistic goals I could work to achieve, and reflecting on my progress.
With Maria’s help goal-setting, facing obstacles, and considering options, I persevered through a long process of interviewing with numerous potential employers half-way across the country. After several months, I received a job offer in New York City! Thanks to Maria, a long-time personal goal which seemed impossible has become my reality.
